These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the mobile application Fajr: Prayer Alarm (the “App”), operated by Alif Analytics (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By downloading, creating an account, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. The Service

Fajr is a prayer-times and alarm application. It calculates Islamic prayer times and the Qibla direction on your device, provides an adhan-based alarm that requires you to complete a short task (“mission”) to dismiss it, and offers additional features such as a monthly timetable, Hijri date, streaks, and Ramadan tools.

Prayer times, Qibla, and Hijri dates are estimates produced by astronomical calculation methods and depend on the calculation method, madhhab settings, offsets, and location data you provide or permit. Times can differ between calculation methods and from your local mosque. You are responsible for verifying prayer times with a trusted local authority, and you can adjust per-prayer offsets in Settings to match your mosque. We do not guarantee religious accuracy and are not a substitute for scholarly guidance.

3. Accounts

Sign-in is required. You may register using Google, Apple (where available), or email/password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You agree that the information you provide is accurate.

4. Alarm Reliability and Device Settings

The App uses your device’s alarm, notification, and background-execution capabilities to ring the adhan at prayer times. Whether an alarm fires reliably depends on your device settings and operating system — including notification permissions, exact-alarm and full-screen permissions, battery-optimization/”Do Not Disturb”/Focus settings, silent mode, and manufacturer power-saving features. The App will prompt you to configure these and will warn you when a setting may prevent an alarm from firing. You are responsible for configuring your device correctly. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any alarm that does not sound, sounds late, or is missed, or for any consequences of a missed prayer, missed suhoor, oversleeping, or similar events.

5. Subscriptions, Free Trial, and Payments

The App offers a free tier with core features, and an optional Fajr Premium subscription with additional features.

  • Plans (may vary by region and are shown at purchase): Monthly (US$9.99), Quarterly (US$24.99), and Yearly (US$89.99), with a 7-day free trial on eligible plans. Local pricing is set by the app stores.
  • Billing and auto-renewal: Subscriptions are billed through, and auto-renew via, your Google Play or Apple App Store account unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
  • Managing and cancelling: Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your app store’s subscription settings. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Free trial: If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the applicable price. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Refunds: Purchases are handled by the app stores and are subject to their refund policies. Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable.
  • Free tier: If you do not subscribe or your subscription ends, the App continues to work as the free tier.

6. Licence and Acceptable Use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where permitted by law;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with security, subscription, or entitlement features;
  • use the App unlawfully or in a way that harms the App, our systems, or other users.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, branding, logo, text, and graphics are owned by Alif Analytics or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the licence in Section 6, no rights are granted to you.

8. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase, RevenueCat, Google Play and Apple App Store billing, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, and the AlAdhan API. Your use of these is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that prayer times, Qibla, Hijri dates, or alarms will be accurate, timely, or reliable. Religious observance decisions remain your responsibility, in consultation with qualified scholars and local authorities.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alif Analytics and its officers, employees, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss arising from missed or late alarms, missed prayers or suhoor, reliance on prayer times or Qibla, loss of data, or inability to use the App. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alif Analytics from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the App. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account). Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, and Limitation of Liability) will survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date; material changes may also be notified in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of [city/jurisdiction — to be completed] will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer laws provide otherwise. (Confirm the correct governing law and venue with your lawyer.)
